Bet on it - Gillespie County Fair Grounds brings horse racing to town

The Gillespie County Fair Grounds horse racetrack will host four big weekends of live horse racing over the summer of 2023. Race dates, rain or shine, are scheduled for July 1-2, July 15-16, Aug. 12-13 and Aug. 26-27. Admission is $10 per person, $5 for children 6-12, and free for children five or under.

The Gillespie County Fair Grounds horse racetrack will host four big weekends of live horse racing over the summer of 2023.

Race dates, rain or shine, are scheduled for July 1-2, July 15-16, Aug. 12-13 and Aug. 26-27.

Admission is $10 per person, $5 for children 6-12, and free for children five or under.

Attendees can place bets on the horse they are pulling for and cheer them on as they race to the finish line. The track features two levels of seating, concessions and ground level access to the track.

The grounds also offers the Race Barn, a restaurant viewing area that features 30 TV screens with races from the nation’s top tracks. Bet and cheer on races from around the country, all while enjoying a full bar and casual dining. The Race Barn is located on Texas 16 South at the entrance to the fair grounds.
