29th Wildflower run/walk

Runners can celebrate Texas Wildflower Day in the Hill Country by competing in the 29th Annual Fredericksburg Wildflower Run/Walk on Saturday, April 22. Competitors will follow a scenic course in and around Fredericksburg that begins and ends downtown at Marktplatz. There will be parking, restrooms and registration available on race day. There will be a 5K and 10K run and 5K walk this year.

Race start

A pre-warm up stretch led by HCM Wellness Center professionals will begin at 8 a.m. near the race starting line.

Races are set to begin at 8:30 a.m. and the walk at 8:35 a.m. Chip timing will be provided by Athlete Guild.

Awards

Awards for 5K and 10K runners will be presented for male and female categories’ first, second and third place finishers.

Age divisions are 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-14, 15-21, 22-29, 30-35, 3641, 42-47, 48-53, 54-59, 60-65, 66-69 and 70.

Final results will be posted on the HCM Wellness Center Facebook page following the race.

There will be no race day registration. Online pre-registration is $35 per walker or runner, due by April 16. The first 200 registrants will receive a jar of jelly from Fischer & Wieser Specialty Foods.

Children who register for the run or walk will be entered into the prize drawing.

Packet pick up

There will be three opportunities to get the official race T-shirt and bib number before the race.

Runners can pick up packets Thursday and Friday, April 20-21, between 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the HCM Wellness Center, 1006 Texas 16 South. Packets can also be picked up on Saturday, April 22, at the same location from 7-8 a.m.
