The Fourth of July fireworks will take place at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park on the night of Tuesday, July 4, with fireworks beginning at 9:30 p.m. and featuring a 15-minute show to light up the summer sky. The park is located at 432 Lady Bird Drive in Fredericksburg. In the event of inclement weather, the fireworks show will be postponed one week to July 11. In addition to the fireworks, the annual Fourth of July Parade is a family-friendly event that will take place on Fredericksburg’s historical Main Street at 10 a.m. on July 4. Just before the parade, Fredericksburg’s VFW Post 7105 will host the annual July 4th Kiddie Parade in Marktplatz at 8:30 a.m. The annual kids event is a sure photo opportunity for parents as kids dress up in their best patriotic outfits, don their decorated bicycles, wagons and toy cars and parade through the downtown square. The Gillespie County Fair Grounds will feature Pari-Mutual Horse Racing on the weekend prior to July 4, with races taking place on July 1-2.
