This year’s performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings, Dec. 8-9.
The 10-minute drive-through presentation features special lighting, music and effects, live characters, animals and professionally hand-painted props.
From 6-8:30 p.m. both nights, cars will be greeted by volunteers who will cover their headlights and then guide them to the tour’s start.
Cars will initially line up on Schubert Street, turn right onto Adams Street and then take another right into Bethany Lutheran Church’s back parking lot. Cars then follow the lighted pathway through the Journey.
People on both sides of the vehicle will be treated to an excellent view of all eight scenes, according to the Rev. Casey Zesch, a pastor at Bethany Lutheran.
Those who don’t want to drive through the nativity in their own vehicles may experience it by enjoying an evening walk through the Journey on the designated walking trail.
People may also board the Bethany Lutheran bus which stops in front of Marktplatz on Main Street.
While there is no admission charge to the event, any monetary donations will be given to the Fredericksburg Food Pantry, according to the pastor.
Bethany Lutheran Church is located at 110 West Austin Street.
