T he annual Hill Country Film Festival event attracts top independent films and filmmakers for a weekend, at the Nimitz Museum Ballroom and the Great Hall at Hoffman Haus.

The 2024 festival will be May 30June 2.

At the growing event, audiences can watch and vote on short and feature length films, documentaries, dramas, animations, art films, comedies and more.

Last year, 47 films were screened to 7,900 attendees and over 665 filmmakers and film industry professionals.

Typically, 30-35 percent of the films screened are from Texas, although the festival includes films from all over the world. The festival has shown 237 international films since its inception.

Organizers will offer awards in 10 categories, including a student film category. Past screenings have included an Oscar-winning short film and other critically acclaimed productions.

On the website, visitors may purchase all-access badges and learn more about the event’s history and past film selections. Individual showing tickets may be purchased at each screening venue during the festival on a firstcome, first-serve basis.

All-access badges give access to a filmmaker welcome on Thursday night, panels, parties and then the Sunday send-off event at Pedernales Cellars.
