FALL FUN RUNS ’24

R unning and walking enthusiasts will find several events planned during the fall season.

Oktoberfest Kraut Run

The15thannualOktoberfestKrautRunisscheduled for Saturday, Oct. 5, beginning at Fredericksburg Middle School, 110 W. Travis St.

Sponsored by the Fredericksburg Morning Rotary Club, the event benefits literacy and youth programs.

This year’s event will include 5K and 8K timed runs, and a 5K non-timed walk.

The event begins at 8:30 a.m. for all runs and walks. Packets will be available for pick up from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at Jack and Adam’s Bicycle Shop and on Saturday, beginning at 7 a.m., at the race site.

The race will be $35 for adults 17 and older, $30 for youth ages 16 and under.

Awards will be given to the top overall male and female racers in the runs, as well as the top three males and females in the following age groups: 1-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80 or older.

The first dog finisher in the 8K will also receive an award.

Turkey Trot

The Heart of the Hills - MOM Center will benefit from the Fredericksburg Turkey Trot on Saturday, Nov. 30 at the Fredericksburg Elementary School, 1608 N. Adams St.

The event will feature both a 5K and 10K run, starting at 8:30 a.m. and a one-mile walk starting at 9:30 a.m.

Registration is $35 per person for the 5K or 10K runs and $20 per person for the one-mile walk.

Online registration is available at athleteguild. com/event/fredericksburg-tx/2024-fredericksburgtexas- turkey-trot. Late registration will be available the day of the race, starting at 6:30 a.m., for $40 per person.

Packet pickup will be from 1-4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at Heart of the Hills, 103 Industrial Loop.
