Gillespie County breweries keep the air of gemütlichkeit — an environment with a sense of warmth and friendliness.

The 33rd annual Fredericksburg Food and Wine Fest will be held on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Marktplatz.

The 30th Fall Art Show and Sale of Die Künstler von Fredericksburg (The Artists of Fredericksburg) is slated for Friday through Sunday, Nov. 10-12.

Nationally celebrated artists such as Sol LeWitt and Nancy Bush are shown in Fredericksburg, as well as widely collected Hill Country artists, such as Charles Beckendorf and G. Harvey. Fredericksburg is filled with Western and Native American art.

The Hill Country Indian Artifact Show is typically held three times annually. The exhibition will be open Saturday, Oct. 28 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

The Fredericksburg Rockhounds Club will host their annual Hill Country Gem and Mineral Show at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park’s Pioneer Pavilion in 2024.

Every year cars line up near St. Mary’s Catholic Church and guests flood the fellowship hall to partake of the annual St. Mary’s Turkey Dinner.

One of Fredericksburg’s annual festivals brings a little bit of Bavaria to the Hill Country.

This October, the Knights of Columbus Council 9765 will be having their 14th annual BestFest celebration.

Fourth of July in Fredericksburg brings the community together for many traditional and annual events.

While diving into the history of Gillespie County and Fredericksburg, one stop history buffs must make is one of the many Gillespie County country schools.

Not only is the Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site at Stonewall a must-see destination, it is also an adventure. It’s a place where historians, naturalists, recreationalists, wildlife viewers, political enthusiasts, wildflower lovers, walkers, anglers and more can find something of interest.

The Fredericksburg Farmer’s Market has been in operation for 16 years. The fall market is typically held at Pioneer Museum, while the summer market is at Marktplatz.

The Hill Country University Center (HCUC) offers higher education opportunities in Fredericksburg for both traditional and non-traditional students. HCUC houses a branch of Central Texas College (CTC) and the Texas Tech University Teaching Site at Fredericksburg (TTU).

The Hill Country Film Festival (HCFF), presented by the Hill Country Film Society, will host its 14th annual festival in downtown Fredericksburg with screenings to take place across two venues — the Great Hall at the Hoffman Haus and the Nimitz Ballroom at the National Museum of the Pacific War. The festival will take place June 1-4, and the full festival lineup will be announced on April 20.

The area’s biggest swap meet returns this summer as the 2023 Hill Country Swap Meet will be held Friday through Sunday, July 28-30, at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park on Texas 16 South.

Every summer, crowds gather in Stonewall on the third full weekend of June to attend the Peach JAMboree, an event that will celebrate its 63rd year in 2023. This year’s event will take place Thursday through Saturday, June 15-17.
