Garrison Brothers
Garrison Brothers is the first legal bourbon distillery in Texas, offering an old-fashioned, time-consuming production process to produce one of the nation’s finest artisan bourbons. Garrison Brothers’ Balmorhea received a Double Gold Medal in the 2020 San Francisco World Spirits Competition They have specialty bourbons which have also rated high marks among appreciative bourbon connoisseurs. Garrison Brothers offers a $10 “Tour & Toast” tour on Tuesdays through Saturdays (Saturdays are $20) at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. (No children or smoking allowed.) Reservations are recommended for tours, so please visit their website to book your spot. Bourbon is available from the Garrison Brothers Whiskey Shack from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m Tuesday through Sunday. The distillery is located just east of the Gillespie County line. The facility also has a gift shop.
Alexander Vineyards
The winery is open daily from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Reservations are recommended. Bottles of wine are being sold in the tasting room. Calls on the way to the tasting room are appreciated.
Larry Jackson Fine Art & Antiques
The Larry Jackson gallery features a collection of original fine art, from oil paintings to sculpture. The gallery carries a significant inventory of collectible antiques, home décor, heirloom furnishings, silver and crystal items and one-of-a-kind treasures. The gallery is housed one block off Main Street in Fredericksburg’s Warehouse District.
Luckenbach Road Whiskey
A descendant of one of Gillespie County’s early settlers and founder of the Buckhorn Saloon has joined the area’s spirits scene. Luckenbach Road Whiskey Distillery brings a sophisticated vision and a 28,000-squarefoot facility to the county, after founder Stewart Skloss found success with his Pura Vida Tequila line in the liquor industry. Luckenbach Road Whiskey founders and distillers have worked with the Texas A&M University Department of Soil and Crop Sciences to maximize and develop crops specific to this region’s climate and growing conditions. An assortment of different corn grains, along with wheat, barley and rye are used in the distillery’s recipes.
